For too many years, the top 1% of the American population has been handed all of the wealth in the nation. As time goes on, the share of the economic 'pie' has been unequally distributed throughout all of the sectors of the economic ladder. The richer are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. We as a nation must fight for economic justice. African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans and other minority groups are continually disenfranchised in our economic system. Too often is racism and bigotry a part of our political system by the extreme right, and sectors of the Tea Party. We as a country ought to be appalled and disgusted by the way corporatism, tax cuts, and discrimination treats minorities, the poor and the middle class. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act would protect our LGBT brothers and sisters from being fired at the workplace just because of their sexual orientation. This negatively impacts their lives... We are ALL EQUAL and it's about time that the House of Representatives and the Senate pass ENDA, and President Obama sign ENDA into law to protect our LBGTQ brothers, sisters, and friends. As an ally of the LGBTQ community, I stand firm with equality and know that with the passage of ENDA, our LGBTQ brothers and sisters will be able to know that one great step towards economic equality will have been taken. ENDA is not a Democrat or a Republican issue... Studies show that close to 70% of registered Republicans support workplace security by protecting sexuality in the workplace. I urge ALL to write/call their member of Congress to fight for economic justice, fight for the passage of ENDA, and fight for a fair and progressive tax system!
