Putin's tiger has defected to China and is seeking asylum. Yes, you heard that right. The two year old tiger Kuzya, has, up to now, been affectionately known as Putin's tiger after he was virtually adopted by Putin as a cub and then released into the wild by the aspiring Czar of Russia.
How could this happen. How could this offspring of Mother Russia, this child of Putin, be so desperate to leave Russia that he would run 300 miles in the last five months and swim the chilly waters of the Amur River to find freedom in China?
No one can be certain why he left. Was he disgusted by Putin's brutal power grab in Ukraine? Did he grow tired of Putin's embrace of Assad? Or did he fear that Putin's Napoleonic complex could one day cause him to turn on Kuzya who could then end up as a rug on the floor of Putin's dacha? We can't be certain. But he was obviously desperate. After all he saw China as a refuge, of all places.
