Grand Jurors may not speak to anyone who is not on the Grand Jury about matters before the Jury. Someone on the Feguson, Mo. officer shooting case may have broken the rules.
It appears that someone may have revealed getting insider information from a juror on Twitter.
A person tweeted that they are friends with a member of the jury who doesn’t believe there is enough evidence to warrant an arrest of the officer, Darren Wilson.
The same person who tweeted about being friends with a member of the jury has also tweeted messages of support for Wilson.
Here are the messages (sent, then deleted after others suggested this be done, but caught by a quick screen shot).
Grand jury proceedings are confidential and if there has been a breach, the prosecutor’s office may have to start over with a newly empaneled group. This would mean several more months of delay when all delays are being perceived by many as purposeful efforts to derail any prosecution.
Meanwhile, Ferguson is grappling with continuing protests amid the wait over whether Wilson will face charges.
