Chicago Murders in November 2014 up 50% during the same time last November. In November 2013 there were 28 total murders. There have already been 24 murders as of November 16, 2014 with 14 more days left in the month to count.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (left) and his police chief Garry McCarthy (right) claimed in the first month of 2014 that because of their work the murder rate in Chicago was "down." During each of the next three months it went up again, despite attempts by city officials (and the Hollywood propaganda film "Chicagoland") to claim that Rahm had made Chicago safer.
During the month of November 2013 there were a total of 16 murders for the first part of the month. In the current month of November 2014 there have been a total of 24 reported murders a 50% increase in murders from the same time last year. Raw data was used from
RedEye Tracking homicides in Chicago.
Checking if this was an anomaly. Substance News compared homicides statistics for the months of September and October to last year during the same months. September 2013 had 43 total murders compared to September 2014 which had 44 total murders a 2.33% increase. In October of 2013 there were a total of 33 murders compared to October 2014 which a total of 38 murders a 15.15% increase. The totals for both months show an upward trending murder rate of 7.89%.

When factored into the November 2014 statistics there is an upward trending three month 15.22% increase. Murders are up in Chicago despite the cold weather and the increased State and Federal law enforcement agencies working on the streets of Chicago. It only makes one wonder what would be happening if the temperatures were not at record lows and all those extra police were not in here.
Another fact that is indisputable is that the Chicago media is not reporting this upward trend of the murder rate in Chicago.
The Chicago Tribune has not reported a homicide on its homicide tracking website, since November 4, 2014 2:17 pm, even though there have been 14 murders since then.

In the past local news agencies went out of their to report even minute decreases in crime even going as far to manipulate the statistics over small periods of time
Police reported 46 murders in August, an 8 percent decrease from the 50 killings in 2013 and a 16 percent decrease from the 55 slayings in 2012. There were only 35 murders in August 2011.
Despite the decrease in killings, the number of shooting incidents and shooting victims remained about the same.

or in some cases going back to the 1960’s to claim a reduction in the murder rate in the city.
Statistics may show that Chicago’s homicide rate is down to levels not seen since the 1960s, but that may not comfort residents of the South and West sides, who saw the bulk of the shootings.

So then what is happening with all the millions of dollars of overtime for police, extra State and Federal agents on the streets of Chicago? There probably needs to be city council hearings and Inspector General Investigation to figure what is happening with all these extra resources and if the Emmanuel administration is knowingly and willingly ordering media outlets not to report the increases in murders since September 2014.
On December 13, 2011, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy (third from left), then Chicago Public Schools "Chief Executive Officer" Jean-Claude Brizard (left) and Chicago Public Schools "Chief Officer for Security and Safety" Jadine Chou (leaning forward, far right) walked reporters through a program called "COMPSTAT CPS," a program that was supposed to meet once a month to better deploy police resources to solve crime problems in the schools using a "data driven" approach. COMPSTAT CPS never again held a public meeting, nor did CPS officials explain whether any COMPSTAT CPS meetings were held at all in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Substance photo by George N. Schmidt.
No question murders are up, temperatures are colder than usual and there is extra law enforcement on the city streets, so what is really responsible for the increasing the murder rate in Chicago, someone knows something but is not telling!

reporter Dave McKinney quits, cites possible retaliation over Rauner article. In his resignation letter to Michael Ferro, chairman of Wrapports, which owns the Sun-Times, McKinney said he was placed on leave two days after the Oct. 6 Rauner story, and was told that his exile might be permanent.
Ferro purchased the Sun-Times in December 2011 with an investor group that included Rauner, then a principal at Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR. Rauner sold his 10 percent stake to Ferro in April 2013, two months before entering the Republican governor's race.

After serving as an advisor to Bill Clinton, in 1998 Emanuel resigned from his position in the Clinton administration and joined the investment banking firm Wasserstein Perella, where he worked until 2002. Although he did not have an MBA degree or prior banking experience, he became a managing director at the firm’s Chicago office in 1999, and according to Congressional disclosures, made $16.2 million in his two-and-a-half-years as a banker. At Wasserstein Perella, he worked on eight deals, including the acquisition by Commonwealth Edison of Peco Energy and the purchase by GTCR Golder Rauner of the SecurityLink home security unit from SBC Communications.
