This is my first diary here, and I'm up at quarter to 11 to find out what The Daily Show had to say about what happened at the polls this year.
When I heard the word 'bloodbath' come out of Jon Stewart's mouth, I knew that, on balance, it wasn't going to be a terribly positive election year for Democrats. I voted, but like many, I also feel I could have done more to get out the vote, and that I've let the side down a bit.
More after the orange hairball.
But then, to be fair, I also felt the side had let -me- down a bit. "Those meanie Republican'ts!" isn't really going to be a successful campaign strategy, guys, especially in a year when, if we're all honest, you had SO MUCH great news you could've run on.
All that to one side, folks, they saw us coming. They were ready for us. It hasn't really changed since Weyrich's declaration that he didn't want everyone to vote.
Here's a picture of states with new restrictive voter laws:

Just a little bit of overlap, wouldn't you say? Even with Republicans having 54 seats in the Senate (just a guess), they don't have enough to impeach, but they are the majority, so it's time for them to step up and start governing.
And I don't mean yet another repeal of Obamacare, John Boehner.
As for you, Mitch McConnell, you may be in more trouble than you realize after the campaign you ran.
