The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Governor Matt Mead (R-WY) has flipped his position on Medicaid expansion under the ACA.
That would make Gov. Mead the tenth GOP Governor to do so.
Gov. Mead was one of the Republican governors to oppose the Affordable Care Act when it was signed into law.
From the Star-Tribune:
“What I will tell the Legislature is: We have fought this,” Mead said. “I agree it is not a good piece of legislation, but as I see where we are, I think we have to be realistic and say, 'This is the current law of the land and we need to either go forward with this' or if the Legislature wants to come up with a different plan, I certainly would be open to that.
“But I don’t think we can say to those people in Wyoming who are working who cannot get insurance that we’re not going to do anything.”
There is a proposal in the Wyoming Legislature that would require co-payments and small payments for those making 101% to 138% of the poverty line.
It is estimated that Medicaid expansion would cover about 17,600 people in Wyoming.

How much longer do we hold out on this side of the state line (Nebraska?)
Edited to correct spelling of "Wyoming" in the title: it's the holiday season and I thought I would decorate the name with a few extra "y"'s.
