America in Retreat vs The Accidental Superpower
By John K. Kugler
America in Retreat by Bret Stephens, explains how the U.S. is becoming isolationist in nature and how to reverse the damage caused by a number of national and foreign policies. The Accidental Superpower by Peter Zeihan, explains how the world will look if the U.S. becomes an isolated country and the aftermath of the United States’ decision to become isolated. Both cast a grim outlook on the future of the world as a whole, but a rather good one for the United States in the long run if the U.S. adopts more isolationist policies. However, both predictions for the future can be averted, if U.S. policy makers change foreign and domestic agendas; in addition to the public becoming more willing to allow the President to use the military to do what is necessary to defuse foreign conflicts to help keep a long lasting world peace.

America in Retreat
The New Isolation and the Coming Global Disorder
Written by Bret Stephens
A lot of books talk about how the world is going to be devastated as a result of a conflict between Russia and the U.S. or the U.S. fighting China, but what people don’t realize that most conflicts happening in our world are caused because of the United States’ increasingly isolationist views towards such conflicts and an example is President Obama’s reluctance to take serious action against Syria.
Bret Stephens’ new book, America in Retreat, explains in detail why America is becoming increasingly isolationist and how this process can be reversed. He also explains how these crises can halted and similar problems can be prevented in the near future. Stephens ends his book by explaining how the U.S. can become the world leader towards a longer lasting peace by taking a firm stance on conflicts happening around the world and punishing those who disregard rules set in place by the UN and NATO.
Promoting Democracy and Capitalism in every country around the world only goes so far; in many cases it causes more suffering than good.

The Accidental Superpower
The Next Generation of American Preeminence and the Coming Global Disorder
Written by Peter Zeihan
There are are quite a few books that talk about how American Foreign policies are becoming isolationist and how that will affect the whole world and that is very good, but there are very few books that actually explain in detail what is going to happen in the next few decades if the U.S. becomes an isolated country as it was during the years leading up to WWII, however a new book written by geopolitical expert Peter Zeihan explains in startling detail what will happen as America gradually leaves the responsibility of world policeman to the rest of the developed world.
Russia for example will crumble if the ethnic Tatars along with other ethnic minorities living in Siberia and other parts of Russia revolt against the Russian government because at this point all American aid and the large majority of American trade would have ceased with Russia also the Chechens living in the Caucasus regions in southwestern Russia would have greatly weakened the Russian military, allowing for the rest of the ethnic minorities to take over the remainder of the Russian government with relative ease. Also the U.S. government at that point would only intervene in global affairs that directly affect the United States or any other country that is allied with the U.S. at this point, thus setting the stage for vast global economic decay, the possible dissolution of many countries in Europe, and the increasing demographic age of the world’s populations.
Zeihan states that the
“world is indeed going to hell, but the Americans are going to sit this one out”, meaning that the world will fall apart, but the U.S. will remain unscathed and emerge as the only dominant power in the world.
