Latest reports are five people are confirmed dead, with the number expected to rise. A lone gunman has gone on a shooting spree spread over two or three different locations and holed up in a Souderton, PA home.
So far, five people are reported to be dead at three locations in Souderton, Lansdale and Lower Salford Township.
Sources say the killings are related to what is being called a domestic situation.
The first shooting was reported at 3:55 a.m. in the 100 block of Main Street in Lower Salford. Police arrived to find a woman shot to death.
A second call came in half an hour later, at 4:25 a.m., for another shooting 100 block of West 5th Street in Lansdale. Officers arrived at that location to find two more people shot and killed.
Sources say all the victims shot a close range.
A SWAT team is conducting a sweep of the Souderton location in search of alleged gunman.

NBC Philadelphia has details on the alleged first victim.
A woman was shot dead, just feet from her children, early Monday morning by a man now being sought by police in at least four different towns in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, sources, police and neighbors tell NBC10.
“I heard the kids say, ‘Mommy no. I want my mom.’ And I heard [the suspect] say ‘Let’s go. We have to go now. We’re leaving,’” the woman’s neighbor at the Pheasant Run Apartments along 150 Main Street in Lower Salford Township said after being jolted awake by gunshots around 4 a.m.
Moments later, the woman saw the children and a man running to a car parked outside.
“I opened the window and I asked him ‘Is everything OK?’ He just looked at me and said ‘She’s hurt pretty bad. We have to leave. She’s hurt.’ And he just got in the car and left," she said.
