American hero
Oh God, there's going to be a
Louie Gohmert PAC?
Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert is launching a new political action committee to help defend House conservatives from 2014 attacks from mainstream Republican PACs, Gohmert announced exclusively to The Daily Caller.
It's high time the stupidest members of Congress had a PAC dedicated to them. "Mainstream" Republicans are always going on about how this or that Republican is embarrassing the party, how they're going to be the next Todd Akin, or the next Steve Stockman, or the next Louie Gohmert. Who will stand up for those simple, gentle, dumb as a post voices? Louie effing Gohmert, that's who.
“There’s a war against the tea party. There’s a war against conservatives, we’re told. If somebody declares war on me I’m not just going to lie down and take it. I’m going to fight,” Gohmert told The DC. ”You’ve got to have money to fight opposition. The leaders in the party raise money so that [makes congressmen] feel they have to stay close to them. If we raise money on our own we can take a stand.”
Louie Gohmert will fight that war, America. Louie Gohmert will fight against the forces of oppression, and mainstreamism. The major problem Republicans keep having is that objective reality always threatens to encroach, but Louie Gohmert will, with your monetary contributions, beat reality back with a stick.
“One of the most staggering comments made in recent years was our own speaker embracing the falsehood that Republicans shut down the government. We passed three bills that were tremendously compromising,” Gohmert said, recalling the Republican House push to pass a continuing resolution in the final hours before the Oct. 1 shutdown, the last of which called for a mere delay of the individual mandate by a year. “But [Democrats] were so determined to shut down the government knowing that the mainstream media would blame Republicans.”
Actually, the staggering part about that is that Louie Gohmert isn't even close to being the first Republican to argue that Republicans didn't shut down the government when they shut down the government,
or the first to express disgust with John Boehner for allowing reality to take an inch of House Republican territory. But he sells it as well as any of them, which is to say he can also say words about things.
This may be something to watch. We haven't heard nearly enough from the crackpots of the party—there has been the odd weekend here and there where not one of them has piped up with a new notable quotable or theory about which government institution is hoarding what in order to oppress patriots by doing a thing, but maybe with an extra five dollars in their pocket they'll be more able to express themselves a little bit louder and more often. You know, for America.
