From how I understand it, I know you will correct me if I'm wrong. Factory workers must vote to decide to vote to have a union.
Now from here I have seen that the organizers of this initial vote are summarily dismissed.
When workers are shown to have an interest in unionizing corporate America goes full bore into panic mode. Bringing in private investigators, police, the National Guard and even the Army to quell workers from organizing. And using politicians to persuade anyone with an interest that the empowerment of the workers must be avoided at all costs.
Union busting tactics were successful recently preventing workers for Volkswagen from becoming the third leg of industry as is their rightful place.
“If co-determination isn’t guaranteed in the first place, we as workers will hardly be able to vote in favor” of potentially building another plant in the U.S. South, said Osterloh, who was quoted in the German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Workers at VW’s factory in Chattanooga last Friday voted against representation by the United Auto Workers, rejecting efforts by VW representatives to set up a works council labor board at the plant.
Osterloh complained that “the conservatives stirred up massive antiunion sentiments.”
So these anti union efforts are now actively driving jobs away when we need them the most.
