Ashley Alman reported on Huff Post that the VW anti-union vote could cost Tennessee and the entire South new jobs. The leader of the Volkswagen’s works council said the works council would not support new investment in a place where worker management cooperation is not possible.
The difference between labor relations in America and in the rest of the developed world is astonishing. Radical Republican right-wingers like Corker and Tennessee Congressman Zach Wamp, who have nothing but contempt for workers, can’t imagine labor relations that treats workers as people. Therefore in their pitiful little provincial minds, unions must be bad and must be killed no matter the interests of management, workers, constituents, or the United States.
In this case at least, anti-union is anti-Tennessee and anti-South!
