Former Oregon Republican lawmaker and ALEC associate, Patrick Sheehan, reported Cover Oregon to the FBI when he heard a secondhand rumor that program managers were misleading the Federal government on how well the insurance exchange was doing by using dummy website features during the troubled rollout.
When asked by the media for proof, Sheehan said he had none and declined to identify his informant.
Sheehan said he went to the FBI because it would be "a pretty big story if it were to be true."
Currently, Mr. Sheehan is working on the gubernatorial bid of fellow ALEC associate and Oregon Representative Dennis Richardson (R). Richardson had formerly manipulated Oregon's public records laws to compile a list of an estimated half-a-million email addresses which he used to send political messages, causing Blue Oregon to dub him
Oregon's New Spam King. Richardson also made national news in the immediate aftermath of the tragic Sandy Hook school shooting for his
email which blamed school personnel for the horrific loss of innocent lives.
If I had been a teacher or the principal at the Sandy Hook Elementary School and if the school district did not preclude me from having access to a firearm, either by concealed carry or locked in my desk, most of the murdered children would still be alive, and the gunman would still be dead, and not by suicide.
Cover Oregon says that they have not been contacted by the FBI, and the FBI has refused to comment.
