'Christian' Militia NOW Crowdfunding Obama's Assassination On Facebook (Images)
Thanks to Americans Against the Tea Party (@AgainstTeaParty and aattp.org), for the original article above, with screen grabs outlining a new-ish FB crowd-sourced bounty on the President, and all and sundry others. Read the full article at:

(FB "REWARD FOR CAPTURE OF OBAMA" page, founded and run by RWNJ Everest Wilhemsen, who lists ~68 members at its (closed?) group page, with more than 20 pledges acknowledged by name, with links in most cases to their FB accounts. It probably goes without saying that the proposed capture is "dead or alive," but they do say it. Repeatedly.)
The group's mission statement reads as follows:
"This group is for American patriots and others who have the mettle to pledge a REWARD FOR THE CAPTURE OF OBAMA.
NOTE: This is NOT a political issue, but A MATTER OF SELF-DEFENSE and a time that TRUE PATRIOTS MUST STAND !!! Most of us are not able to get close enough to Obama to capture and remove him, but some are. This REWARD is to encourage all who have the ability and opportunity to CAPTURE and permanently REMOVE Obama from the White House and Washington -- to do so.
Obama MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE THE ELECTIONS, otherwise he will use them again for wrongful (fraudulent) advantage: Elections are how Obama convinces voters that they have "representatives" (that is why he is always campaigning) when in fact he and his co-conspirators are violating and alienating our Constitution---supplanting our Constitution with their usurpation of our Sovereignty.
The closer we get to the November elections the stronger and more arrogant (more dangerous) Obama will become."
Complete with all the necessary Freedumz, Patriotz, 'Murica, etc. As bad as that is, it's pretty vanilla. These batsh*t whackjobs (sorry, RWNJ just doesn't seem to cover it) go on to specify murder and mayhem against anyone not on their side. Helpfully providing linkouts to hit lists, which include among "members of Congress," VP Joe Biden, USAG Eric Holder, SCOTUS and others.
Apparently, a member screen-grabbed AATTP's article to cross-post; "like"s and comments indicate that they feel validated (?) by AATTP's notice. Does this give groups like this too much credence?
The bounty page is the descendent of a larger, more established group, by the same founder, equally as batsh*t nucking futz:
https://www.facebook.com/...
(FB 'Christian American Patriots Militia's page, an open group from which the 'Reward' page was spawned, with ~3,446 members, and 3 admins by name/FB accounts). Their mission statement reads, in part, "The foundations of our nation are Christian principles..." Sorry, I couldn't keep reading, but you can go to their page and click on "more."
Among other rants, the group (or its founder, Everest Wilhemsen) openly calls for the assassination of President Obama, citing - you guessed it - the 2nd Amendment, or at least the half of it they've read.
Somewhat parenthetically, there's also a post shared there by a Randy G. Couch III (originally from the coincidentally named The Tea Party Couch. III%'s photo: of President Obama huffing a blunt and labeled LAWLESS and RECKLESS, against a backdrop of We the People), expounding the poster's lack of basic Constitutional understanding: "LIBERALISM IS AGAINST THE LAW! ~JonC." Oddly, it was remarkably well-spelled, but only allows readers to "like" or "share" - no comments, please. I shared it with an extensive comment about the author's apparent lack of education in Constitutional Law, but only to my peeps, so . . .
Americans Against the Tea Party's earlier, just as interesting article "Christian Tea Party Terrorist Claims 2nd Amendment Authority To Shoot President Obama!" may be read here:

I reflected later, while listening to "New World Order," a 2009 documentary (directed by Luke Meyer and Andrew Neel, now airing on IFC) aaaallll about conspiracy theories/theorists, that it seems to me that the same type of people keep rising to conspiracy bait. Only the specifics change, whether it's Ruby Ridge, 9/11/false flags, or tyranny and birtherism/lib'rulz/FEMA camps . . . it's all gunz, gunz, gunz.
All that irrational fear, anger, overwhelming anxiety and self-confirming bias. I have to admit to some, albeit reluctant, pity for those who succumb, having worked in mental health. Although I don't want to be anywhere in their sights. And, while they may have something to bitch about -- when it comes to NSA no-warrant en masse data collection, or the increasing use of drone strikes -- using words is preferable to bullets. Sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't have rolled out anti-psychotics along with fluoridation in the water supply, way back when. If it weren't a sure bet to confirm their fears, it might be worth looking into, now.
At least FB's context-sensitive suggestions appeared to be working. On the Christian Militia page above, FB suggests groups like HIDDEN TRUTHS, COVER-UPS & CONSPIRACIES (11,157 members) -- what is it with RWNJs and ALLCAPS, anyway? -- Paul E. Vallely - The General's Group (5,678), Tea Party Conservatives for Freedom (10,102), We The Conservative Voters of America (10,162), and GENERAL JAMES "MAD DOG" [*] MATTIS TO... (6,339). The crowd-sourced bounty page further suggests the groups SUFA - States United for Americans (3,589), American Patriots For A United Rep...(9,022), and United Patriots to Restore Our America...(5,910). Thank you, Facebook, for helpfully mapping out related causes, for those who might be interested.
*Can we agree there's no need to willingly suspend disbelief at the "Mad Dog" self-designation, hmmmn? Completely off-topic, or maybe not, I think my rabies vaccine expired a few years ago (missed 10-year booster).
I don't think Facebook's Suggested Music Pages are necessarily up to par for context though, as I doubt most RWNJs could get jiggy wid Sinead O'Connor, Earth Wind and Fire, or even Barry White. And the Recommended Pages: Celo Center for Earthkeeping, Llewellyn Brooks . . . oh, wait. Maybe that part's cueing from MY likes and friends :-).
Aside from the observation that statements made at these RWNJ/BSWJ sites have wandered way past birtherism, conspiracy-theory-of-the-week and WTF-land, and are now frankly into calls for kidnap, murder and armed insurrection (therefore inviting Secret Service attentions), it seems to beg a proper GOATing. Could any be more deserving?

Please read with a gentle mind - this is my first DKos diary. Eventually, I hope to acquire the skills to compose diaries full of engaging visuals, e.g., screen-grabs and embedded vids, leading to an inevitable ability, not just a willingness, to join the esteemed ranks of GOATdom. But I'm text-based (and old, and cranky) to an extreme - I'm only reluctantly using Windows at all, and still abhor non-intuitive icon-driven user interfaces. So, my skills aren't yet up to the task -- hell, not all the letters even reliably work on my keyboard -- but I'll work on it. Meanwhile, I admire the Kossacks, and those who GOAT. For now, I'm obliged to remain a Woman that Stares at Goats . . . and thankfully, I can now close those FB pages, having at least verified the source material and shared it here. Meh. My cursor feels dirty.
11:49 AM PT: As Catte Nappe helpfully pointed out, the Facebook links are dead: page not found, perhaps removed.
Oh, carp. If I'd only gotten screen-grabs. Or, typed faster.
The AATTP articles are still well worth a read, and I'd guess that the other specific groups/individuals mentioned are still wandering aimlessly about Facebook.
Sun Mar 02, 2014 at 9:24 AM PT: Both the Facebook pages are active again.
Over the last 18 hours or so, at least 3 brave new group members have been trolling the bounty page (REWARD FOR CAPTURE OF OBAMA). Dog bless Pete Dayton, and George Boosh, who posted the group event "Secret Service Party..." and Robert Price, the heaviest "donor" at $50-75K of the putative $80K+, who then deleted the pledges with a note to the founder:
"Hey Everest,
I made a copy of the PLEDGE page before I defiled it. I'm sure you did [too], because you seem quite computer savvy.
Just in case it's not backed up to your AOL account, private message me and I'll send it over. Your 56k modem should download it in 12-20 hours."
Of course, a few goats here and there wouldn't hurt.
