A Chevron gas well explosion in Bobtown, Pennsylvania, prompted the energy giant to go on a public relations offensive in the small town hosting the US Chamber board member's fracking operations. The tragic explosion was responsible for the death of one worker and for another worker to go missing. This led Chevron, a huge tort reform proponent, to offer the local Pennsylvania residents coupons for a free large pizza and soda.
This prompted Stephen Colbert to "tip his hat" to Chevron. Said Colbert, "it's the least they could do. Literally, I think it's the least they could possibly do."

He went on to say, "free pizza! Of course, that's for a gas well fire. If the chemicals in your drinking water cause neurological damage, you get crazy bread."
If only the US court system allowed companies like Chevron to compensate injured workers with pizza instead of money. Now that is something that a tort reform champion like Chevron could sink its teeth into!
