Bribes no longer have to be made in secret. Now large corporations can just buy cops and influence in the open.
With five unanimous thumbs up, officials on Tuesday agreed to let Facebook foot the bill for a full-time sworn police officer to work out of a substation near the social media giant's new campus.
"In my 28 years in law enforcement, I have yet to work with a stronger community partner than Facebook," [Menlo Park police Chief Robert Jonsen] told the City Council.
I can't imagine a police department giving preferential treatment to their
new sugar daddy a trusted benefactor.
Soon, all corporations will be able to buy their own cops. And only the peasants will be left without protection.
I for one welcome our new corporate overlords.
