House Republicans will probably pass the Ryan budget Thursday morning, a budget that relies on
gutting Obamacare to find the funds for all those sweet tax breaks for rich people.
Meanwhile, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius just announced that 7.5 million people got health insurance through the exchanges. That includes a whopping 400,000 that got in just under the wire on the last days of enrollment. Once again, our own Charles Gaba nailed an enrollment prediction. Given Gaba's on-the-money calculations so far, today's vote for the Ryan budget means that Republicans would take health insurance away from 20 million people, including everyone who bought on the exchanges, enrolled in Medicaid, or signed up on their parents' plans.
That's at least 20 million people that Republicans would throw back into the nightmare of being uninsured. It's 20 million people that they can't come up with a replacement plan for. But the dirty, little not-such-a-secret of the Republicans is that they don't really care what happens to all those people. Here's just one more vote to prove it.
