I've come to look forward to the release of each new AFP ad against Mary Landrieu. They are so perfectly cookie cutter, so free of substance that they mock themselves. Responding to them is easier than answering a fathead Facebook post.
Their latest, "Why Does Mary Landrieu Live by Her Own Rules?" is pretty typical. Actors playing hard-working, middle-class (invariably white) women, talking about how tough it is to make it as a mom, with the price of everything going up, segueing inexplicably to Landrieu voting to raise the debt and the Senate not passing a budget for four years, the basic message being, "We hard working women and moms have to live in budgets, but Mary Landrieu doesn't, so she's bad for hard working women and moms."
This one was easy to sink without much more than a chip and a putt. For all the issues on which Sen. Landrieu and I might disagree, she has a solid record on women's issues, particularly those that affect working women and families. What's more, her, um, esteemed colleagues on the other side of the aisle have left a lot of ammo lying around...
Two googles and a snap later, and voila:
As always, a direct link to the video is provided.
