Mitt Romney is back in Iowa. Fortunately, we do not have FaceTime blogging here at Daily Kos, so you can't actually see me laughing and crying simultaneously, which is good, because it isn't pretty. Mitt of course is still pretty.
Sadly for Governor Romney and happily for the rest of us, that is pretty much his only positive aspect.
The Governor's complete lack of self awareness on that very subject is probably why he is in Iowa, though the visit has a cover story based upon the campaign of Joni Ernst for the Republican nomination to run for U.S. Senate, an office with which the Governor has no known acquaintance.
What a coincidence that of all the GOP nut jobs jousting and tilting for their respective states' Republican nomination to run for U.S. Senate, this particular candidate in the four-way GOP primary in Iowa most demanded the Governor's personal attention and his undoubtedly crucial support. There is no way, I suppose, that his visit might in any way signify that the Governor harbors suspicions that if he runs against a non-incumbent he can still win the White House and fullfil the White Horse Prophecy. Surely the Governor isn't thinking about the GOP nomination process that will start to kick into higher gears right after the November election. No doubt the Governor will scrupulously avoid pressing the flesh and talking with the people in his former Iowa organization from 2012.
Then again, maybe the Governor still has the same pollsters unskewing the world for him.
Also, too, I can't help but wonder how much the Governor enjoyed having candidate Ernst crap all over his shoes as he stepped off of the plane, with her NRA style nonchalance over the domestic terrorist who slaughtered all those innocents in Santa Barbara.
Anyway, Mitt Romney is back in Iowa. Welcome back to the GOP Presidential Nomination Clown Show, Governor.
I'm done crying, now. But,I'm still laughing.
