I don't plan on writing many diaries. I'm usually not well spoken. I just wanted to say that I've been watching Continuum lately and I can't help but notice how they talk about "Corporate Congress" in the future of 2077. Don't we already have a corporate congress? Aren't lobbyists and corporations writing laws already in this day and time? Obviously we don't live in a distopian future where we start out owing money to corporations and our lives are based on paying back "credits" to become free of our debt.
Though, that does sound familiar when you think about how life revolves around the ease at which debt is acquired and is always needed to be paid back since you can't exactly just go out and buy a house willy nilly. Almost everything is based on credit. Almost all of that credit is owned by a corporation and backed by the government.
Imagine if the government collapsed and the companies that own services then took over. I don't imagine that happening but the reason i'm bringing it up is because I feel like part of this is already happening. It's no longer "we the people". I know everyone knows this already but maybe it's time to stoke the fires. Maybe people should make small changes in their lives to retire this new notion of the norm.
Thanks for listening.
