My beautiful boy. I rescued him 6 mos ago. Right before Mercy. He just walked up to me. He was abandoned 7 years ago. I know this because he is chipped and a girl found him from the trailer park 6 years ago in a carrier behind bushes at Mc Donalds close to the park. I called the guy to see if he missed Peanut. He lied and said he ran away and did not want him. His loss my gain of the most sweetest cat.
It was something I had to do for him. I could not let him suffer or put him to sleep,
Sweet gentle Peanut had surgery today. I did not expect this. He had what a vet told me Gingivitis and was on antibiotics for 2 weeks. I just had a feeling something was still wrong. Thought maybe a bad tooth or an abscess or that the Dental Specialist could help him with the Gingivitis.
Well it turned out to be bad Stomatitis. His mouth was so red inside the gums and back of the lip line inside. So red almost purple. Severity was 7 out of 10.
So she removed all his teeth today. 3 hour surgery. Also removed 2 salivary glands and gave him an Interferon Omega shot , which is banned in the US but she got it. It is an amazing drug for these kind of diseases.
Poor Peanut. I just called and he is awake and on heavy pain meds.
I will bring him home at noon tomorrow. The whole thing cost me over $3,000. It was either fool around with treatments and steroids that really don't work or PTS or pull all teeth with all the roots and every bit has to come out.
A lot of vets leave in the canines because they are so hard to get out without cracking the jaw. She is the best Dental surgeon outside of Phoenix.
Please keep Peanut in your thoughts as he recovers. He will be on a pain patch for a week.
If anyone can help me pay for this huge bill, I had to borrow money to pay upfront. Anything would help me right now. This was unexpected. I hate to ask, but maybe someone could help who will not miss a donation for Peanut.
