I know this is a totally inconsequential diary.
The final episode of True Blood aired tonight on HBO. I've ridden through the ups and downs of the series, from the time it was really, really good (at the top of the vampire wave before Twilight was a gleam in Stephenie Meyer's eye), to the completely absurd story lines of the past few years.
Let's just say I never really liked LC. Sookie was meant to be with Bill.
Tonight, the very end of the show highlighted that Sookie, the pivot point of the entire series, moved on. And it didn't really matter who she moved on with - that was not clear - intentionally so, I think.
The final gathering around the Thanksgiving table post-V virus in Bon Temps allowed me to remember the good story lines and bad, with Zepplin's "Thank You" playing as the overture for the series. Though some would argue that True Blood should have ended its run a few years ago, the final episode this evening was every bit as good as the end of The Sopranos, and maybe even wrapped up a few loose ends better than David Chase did with Tony.
I mentioned Twilight above. True Blood was "Twilight" for adults. From a true fan, who hated the bad stuff and loved the True Blood aspect of the series, thanks for the run.
