Governor John Kasich (R) is at it again. Here in Ohio, back when he was first elected in 2010 and like a Trojan horse, he attempted to dismantle collective bargaining at the state level. The only ones who knew of his plans were his big-money donors, but that's all who really matters. He was going for the teachers first. Then came Senate Bill 5. And we won. For now. It's happening again.
Reynoldsburg is a suburb that bumps right into the east side of Columbus. It's a rather reddish area, while Columbus proper is solid blue. It's a working-class area that overlaps into some wannabe affluent areas. It's a confusing place. And it's teachers are within days of striking and under attack. There was no protocol or arbitration, grievances.. It's pure politics. This whole situation with Reynoldsburg City Schools is a test run. This situation needs to see the light of day. They are counting on doing this quietly in the night.
