OU campus police "arresting" man.
First diary here, so bear with me. I wouldn't normally write anything, but this one hits close to home.
The police at my university, The University of Oklahoma, have been filmed repeatedly dropping knees into a man they were arresting on campus. Sure, he's probably not brutally injured like with some police use of force, but it happened on my doorstep.
In the video (below the fold) you can see a man who's being restrained by four officers and is on the ground being repeatedly struck by an officer's knee while he begs for help. The police department says that an investigation will take place as with all uses of force, but we have to wait for details to emerge.
A quote from Blake Wilson, who filmed the incident on his cell phone: "I was going to class and saw four cops standing around the guy sitting down and he was talking to them and it seemed pretty calm. I don't know why they were standing around him he was not yet in hand cuffs I waited outside and then they tried to put him in handcuffs and that's when I started to record."
1:01 PM PT: Of course, right after I publish this I find the police and university statement. Copy-past the address if you want to read it. It refers to "pain compliance techniques" as justification.
