Parks and Recreations (Watch it on http://watchseries.lt/...) is an American comedy TV series, broadcasted by NBC. The TV show premiered on April 9, 2009, and it had seven seasons. It was filmed in the mockumentary style, using a single-camera, and it received mixed reviews from the critics, but also several nominations and awards, like Emmy and Golden Globe. Parks and Recreations was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, starring Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, and Aziz Ansari.
The story of Parks and Recreations is placed in a fictional small town in Indiana, Pawnee, where Leslie Knope (played by Amy Peohler), is running the Parks and Recreation Department in the town. The entire series is a satire of the bureaucracy of a small town, and if you liked The Office or Modern Family, you will definitely love this show. On the other hand, if you remember all those moments when The Office was stick to reality, Parks and Recreations goes completely in the opposite direction.
While watching Parks and Recreations, you will discover that every character of the show is presented in a ridiculous way, but that is what makes them so likeable. However, some people may consider it also the thing which limits the show in many other ways. For example, during the first six seasons of the show, you won’t see the character developing and evolving. There are several new relationships developing between the characters, but they actually stay the same from the first until the last season. In fact, some characters were even cut out, while others were reduced to the basic, just to keep the funny components in.
Furthermore, after the first season, Parks and Recreations gets better and better, and it has a lot to offer to its fans. There are a lot of comic cliché happenings in this TV series, but they are not less funny, and the producers managed to give them a new light.
The story of Lesly Knope, the main character, is fairly basic. She is working in the Parks and Recreations Department, but she has big dreams and she does everything she can to change this old system. She is so in love with the public work, and she even likes fighting with the system every day. Her boss is trying to privatize the department, one of her colleague is hitting on her permanently, while the chief assistant tried to block all her actions.
On a large perspective, Parks and Recreations acknowledges that every community, in any country around the world, has its own Leslie Knope. What is actually important is the way Leslie affects the community, and how her own world is influenced by it. At some point, even Leslie said “no problem too small”, even if she knows she is not fighting for glory and fame. In the sixth season, she will finally understand that she needs the recognition outside the small world of Pawnee, but we will let you discover what actually happens the small town.
