Recently US House Speaker John Boehner, in an unprecedented event, invited the Prime Minister of another nation to speak before the Congress of the United States without the explicit approval of the President. This act directly undermines the Chief Executive's foreign policy in that it was clearly meant to undermine President Obama's negotiations with Iran.
What few of us know is that this invitation was openly orchestrated by the Israeli Ambassador:
The outrage the episode has incited within President Obama’s inner circle became clear in unusually sharp criticism by a senior administration official who said that the Israeli ambassador, Ron Dermer, who helped orchestrate the invitation, had repeatedly placed Mr. Netanyahu’s political fortunes above the relationship between Israel and the United States.
This is the same ambassador who claimed that any deal with Iran
could endanger the very existence of the State of Israel
Meet Ambassador Dermer of Israel:
This Israeli Ambassador is a right wing neocon with close ties to both the Bush family and Netanyahu. He was a protege of Frank Luntz, where he learned the tactics of media manipulation I presume.
Oh, did I mention that he is being reprimanded for violating Israel's Civil Service Rules concerning public employees? These rules clearly state that:
A state employee must be careful that his actions or behavior cannot be interpreted as being aimed at promoting the interest of any particular party or candidate.
During an interview with the American Fusion Television network, aimed at a young hispanic audience, Jorge Ramos mentioned that the polls in Israel suggested that people did not think things were moving in the right direction. The Ambassador responded with this actionable quote:
“I have no doubt that when they [the Israeli public] look at all the people that stand for the leadership of the country, that they will have confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Netanyahu.”
In conclusion, we have a neocon Republican, who also appears to advocate for the worst of Israeli foreign policy, as the Israeli Ambassador to the United States How could that go wrong?
Now for the nut -- Israel attacked Hezbollah in Syria. Hezbollah responded from Lebanon. You know where this is going... war covers all asses.
Netanyahu will undermine Obama's Iran initiatives by hook or by crook... well, both actually.
