This Thursday two Ferguson cops were shot.
I found it very interesting their reaction under fire.
In this situation, some cops might have pulled their guns and began shooting at the protesters in front of them. It would have been a reasonable assumption that the protesters were the source of the gunfire (they were not).
If that had happened, if innocent protesters had been killed, everyone would be outraged and gone to Ferguson.
Instead the cops kept their cool. They drew their weapons but fired no shots.
Every day cops have to do their job. You can't really give someone a medal for not shooting someone. Obviously.
There are plenty of problems with Ferguson government and Ferguson police, no question.
Still I think its important to recognize that even when their lives were in danger, the Ferguson cops did not start shooting at the protesters. Maybe a glimmer of hope?
