update: Obviously Cathy has moved on from giving any kind of token damn about this district. And I guess she must feel confident that the Spokesman Review will endorse her forever as I see yet another top of the list diary about what a phony she is.
Who knew? I ask- well if Cathy does she's not saying so. So I guess she's the one here that doesn't know.
Reading the diary at the top of the recommended list I was reminded of the huge front page story in the Spokesman Review from just two weeks ago-
Medical providers opening facilities as more are insured
Law added more than 50,000 customers in Spokane County
Right in our lil misrep's backyard "Obamacare" is changing the face of the community that she misrepresents so well. More jobs. More construction. More health care.
Who could have predicted it?!
More than 50,000 people in Spokane County have signed up for insurance since the Affordable Care Act took hold in late 2013, pushing the uninsured rate below 3 percent.
People who have put off physicals, screenings and procedures because of concerns about bills now have the coverage to be treated.
Imagine that!
And apparently some new building will be happening. That must mean some more jobs. Well that is unimaginable!
Rockwood Health has plans for a $5.2 million emergency clinic with 12,720 square feet of space at 8200 N. Division St., according to building permits.
It will have 15 beds and offer 24-hour care every day with lab and X-ray services on site. Rockwood spokeswoman Jill Fix said the facility will serve patients who need more help than urgent care clinics are equipped to offer, yet who don’t require the full-blown trauma care given by hospital emergency rooms.
Rockwood has added to its emergency department at Valley Hospital in the past five years and is finishing a major remodel and expansion of its emergency room at Deaconess Hospital.
It already has six urgent care centers in the Spokane area.
More people need and can
afford health care as a result of the Affordable Care act and all the care providers in Spokane County want to make that happen.
In 2013, Providence’s fledgling urgent cares treated 23,261 patients. Last year, the number almost tripled to 66,853 patients.
“All three urgent care sites have exceeded our expectations and projections,” DeRuyter said. “Demand is strong.”
(my bold)
And more news of another provider in the area expanding
CHAS Health expects to serve about 6,000 patients at its Perry Street Clinic, which will open in late March. The primary care clinic will open in rented space at 817 S. Perry St., Suite B, and will include a pharmacy.
Wilson said the association is also interested in opening a clinic in Cheney in the future but hasn’t secured funding.
and that one on Perry Street? I see people working on that building with my own lil eyeballs. And I'm guessing more people will be working in those new facilities too and getting paychecks. I'm guessing they're earning money that is also going back into the local economy.
Maybe my lil misrep ought to take a look around at the community she misrepresents and then she wouldn't have to ask stupid questions.
sigh
p.s. a bit rushed on the diary but just had to share!
pps that outstanding candidate from last time- yeah he's running! :)
