Good morning! Welcome to the DKos Sangha weekly open thread.
This is an open thread for members of the DKos Sangha and others who are interested in discussions concerning how we integrate our progressive political activism into our spiritual practice. If you have observations about the political discourse of the week, or about practice, or about anything else related to walking a spiritual path through the political world, if you wish to share, or if you seek support, or if you simply want to say hello, please do; this space is for you.
If you would like to write a diary for the DKos Sangha, please let me know.
If you care nothing for spiritual practice and only wish to denigrate and disparage, please do so elsewhere, and respect that this is a community diary for the DKos Sangha.

Eventually, the internal conflict fades away. The daily activities are no longer accompanied by drama, which leaves one more focused on the actual activities at hand. It is a much calmer way to move through one's day.
There will still be conditioning that arises, patterns that have not yet fully dissipated. But they will be welcomed as opportunities to release further. And there will be much that is not known; but that too is welcomed and embraced.
The truth of the adage, don't hold tight to what you think you know, becomes increasingly apparent. There is so much to discover in this amazing experience of being a human being on this earth. Letting go of what we think we know about something allows seeing from different points of view previously not considered; and there is a lightness of being when we are unconstrained by stories and beliefs.
There is no longer a desire to be someplace other than where one is. There is no longer a current of dissatisfaction underlying the unfolding of our day to day existence. There are chores and commitments, there is work to be done, there are changes to be made; but all of it just unfolds, with no need for any drama.
And all of it is just natural; ordinary. Nothing special. Just ordinary daily life, without the drama.
And time with friends is joyful. When our stories no longer get in the way, we can be fully present with our friends. When we are together, who we are becomes this relationship.
And when we sit on the front steps and look out on the trees and flowers and butterflies, the sky and clouds, and feel the wind, and hear the call of the crows, this too is who we are.
When we begin to examine who we really are, it is a step on a journey of transformation. Within the context of this culture within which we find ourselves, such a journey seems extraordinary; but it is as ordinary as washing dishes and making tea. It is, after all, who we've been all along; but without the stories, without the drama, without the judgement, the self-doubt, the frustration, the despair. Just going about our day, just as it is.
When seen through for what they really are, eventually the internal conflicts fade away; the drama fades away. And everything is just as it is, here in this space, in this present moment.
Just being, here, now.

You are welcome to join us each week in our Monday night group meditation here at DKos Sangha. This online group meditation is hosted by Ooooh, and the diary is posted at 7:00 Eastern. So that we are able to be together for as many here at Daily Kos as wish to participate, the meditation period runs from 7:30 to 11:00 Eastern. This group sitting is open to beginners and advanced, and is not restricted to any particular traditions or practices. It is not expected that you sit for the entire period; sit for as long as you like, when you like. The idea is that we are here together; supporting each other, holding space for each other.

Enjoy your day!
