I'm not on site much, so I apologize if this ridiculous conspiracy theory has already been lampooned.
After seeing that someone posted information about coming military exercises in the South West United States this coming summer--including a map that labeled Texas "Enemy territory"--the right wing paranoia increased to previously uncharted territory.
Supposedly serious people are claiming that this signals an imminent attack by the federal government and the imposition of martial law.
Rather than calm his citizens, the governor of the Lone Star state is said to have announced that the people shouldn't worry--not because the whole situation was caused by the opportunism of some playing on the gullibility of others but because the leaders of Texas were keeping an eye on the Federalies.
Seeing such lunacy should make us all thankful that this site does not allow conspiracy theorists to use it as a stage to promote foolish ideas. There are things that I think may be true, but that I can't prove, which I understand would not be welcome here. That is fine. No, it's better than that.
Anyway, I could go on about how we're being protected from looking like the mirror image of the far right--but I'll spare you.
I do wonder how long it will take some wit to realize that the "invasion of Texas" is just a distraction--Alabama, here we come!
