He needs to change the game. He can not stand toe to toe with Hillary and her bankers.
But I believe, there is a way, just follow me down the orange scroll road.
Bernie is a populist candidate that has the opportunity to ignite a fire in voter land. Especially those who do not generally vote, actually getting these typical non-voters to change their habit is the only way to win.
With election turnout over the last 10 presidential elections averaging only 53.2% there are plenty of voters to inspire. Think about this, imagine if only 10% of these voters were inspired to vote, many for the first time in years or even their lives.
In a general, with the Dems & Repubs basically splitting the vote (assisted by the Rethugs disenfranchising millions) the injection of 5,000,000 + new votes would mean Bernie would win by a landslide.
So how does Bernie accomplish this, first by doing and saying exactly what he has been. Bernie may be the first candidate in my life to not speak in grand platitudes but rather plain language calling out Republicans and Democrats alike for their mismanagement and horrible ideas. At the same time he puts forth simple concrete ideas that fix the problems but in the truly radical ways needed to actually work.
Here is my one big idea for Bernie
Announce that you are unilaterally imposing campaign finance reform on your own campaign as follows:
1. Accept no money or support from Super Pacs
2. Accept no corporate donations
3. Limit donations to a maximum of $1,000 per person and no aggregating
I know, about now you are all thinking, this guy is crazy, you can't win without the big financial bakers (the .1% or as I like to call them Hillary's book club). Yes but remember the only way Bernie will win is not to outspend but rather to out inspire.
If Bernie can get 20,000,000 americans to donate an average of $40 that's $800,000,000. But there is a bonus, just like American Idol the genius is in getting the audience involved. If someone donates $5 to Bernie, they are going to the polls.
It will be a rough road but in addition to it being right, it is in my opinion the best chance that Bernie and we as a country have.
