I'm on vacation this week (typing this in Istanbul), so I was unable to respond to the heinous tragedy in Charleston. Had I been smart, I would have just anticipated a mass shooting before I left, since they occur with such appalling regularity.
It has long seemed absurd to me that corporate titans don't care a whit about downsizing people out of their jobs, but the moment workers ask for a higher minimum wage, they become spluttering concern trolls about possible effects on employment.
