There's no reason to hide it. I'm a conservative Christian Tea Party Republican and I frequently write in major print and digital publications from that perspective. Obviously, I don't have a whole lot in common with the Left, but one thing I do care very deeply about is personal freedom for all, including gay couples. I've written about this numerous times in numerous publications, including many conservative publications, but despite that, I still receive a ton of hate from liberal commentators and random strangers for disagreeing with the Supreme Court's decision.
Simply put, I don't think the Court's reasoning makes any legal sense at all and I do think it's a violation of states' rights as granted by the 10th Amendment.
Even if you disagree with that, and I imagine many of you do, I don't understand why I have received so much vitriol for having what seems to me to be a perfectly reasonable position. It seems to me as though the Left, quite frankly, is incredibly hateful with anyone who disagrees with them, regardless of the reasoning. Having been accused of just about everything under the Sun (racism, homophobic, etc.), I'm tired of it and just want to ask you: Why?
I know there are lunatics on both sides of the aisle, but the criticism I've received from the Right for supporting gay rights has been far less extreme than what I've heard from the Left.
So seriously, just asking, why can't liberals and conservatives have reasonable conversations about these issues without there being ridiculous amount of insults thrown around? Where is all this hate coming from?

5:41 AM PT: Just a few examples of some recent "hate" I've received for simply saying the Supreme Court is wrong, nothing else about homosexuality being a sin or anything like that:
"Kiss my hairy gay ass.......and you all better pray to your jesus for forgiveness ......"
"Fuck conservative asswipes"
The list goes on and on. One commenter here already posted an offensive comment.
