In all of our politics and real-world problems (and trust me, here in Wisconsin, it's seems like it's constant vigilance) - sometimes we just need to sit back and enjoy. As long as I have my art, life is good.
These photos were taken at River Falls Days (River Falls, WI) on the evening of July 12, sitting on the unused lanes of an overpass, watching from a distance. I'd have liked to get the fireworks with something interest in the background, but they're shot off in a natural bowl surrounded by bluffs (some of which you can see in the photos).
I used my Pentax K-5 with a Tamron 17 - 50mm lens. Most were at base ISO (160), f/7 with bulb shutter (pushed the shutter when I saw the launch, closed when I'd had enough).
Enjoy!
