If Republicans do one thing right in Kansas, it is their constant on the ground conversation with constituents. Republican representatives and senators have made an art of holding town halls at every turn in order to let constituents hear the policy straight from them "with no filters" Moran once told a group in Johnson County.
Today, that commitment to no filters ran into an interesting problem. In Wamego, Kansas, Dr. Milton Wolf, a tea party radiologist who had challenged Pat Roberts in 2014 took a combative tone with Senator Jerry Moran, taking him to task for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy against Wolf's 2014 campaign.
This video, captured by the Topeka Capital Journal and made available shows the two men merely feet apart as they argue over whether or not Senator Moran had involved himself with the 2014 Pat Roberts campaign for Senate.
Dr. Wolf continued to press his charge, extending from a recent update on his own website:

So in 2014, Pat Roberts dispatched his dumpster-diving friend Jeff Roe to investigate Dr. Wolf to find something, anything, he could hand over to the media. Meanwhile, Jerry Moran dispatched another political thug, Brad Dayspring, to launch an all-out personal assault on Dr. Wolf with more venom and volume than they ever use against any Democrat. Most Republicans will remember that at this same time in 2014, it was Jerry Moran as head of the NRSC who funneled Republican donations to Democrat get-out-the-vote efforts in Mississippi in order to defeat a conservative Republican, state Senator Chris McDaniel. Moran also funneled Republican donations to Kansas to fund a get-out-the-vote effort to defeat our own conservative Republican, Dr. Milton Wolf.f
Dr. Wolf contends that Jerry Moran was part of an illegal scheme to leak information, to spy on Dr. Wolf, and to harm his campaign through dirty tricks.
Dr. Wolf continues by noting that the plot thickens because it connects Jerry Moran with Jeff Roe, the political operative associated with numerous ill-fated Missouri & Kansas strategies. Jeff Roe, considered an inside brawler within conservative politics has a lot of successes behind him, but more than a few disasters as well. Dr. Wolf is interested in painting Jerry Moran as part of those disasters.
Referring to Moran as "not a Republican", Dr. Wolf appears to be prepping another primary run at US Senate; but while Pat Roberts was seen as a lackluster campaigner with serious age and residency issues, Jerry Moran is considered to be fairly safe within Kansas.
Not so, contends Wolf and Tea Party advocates, who remind people that Jerry Moran barely staved off Todd Tiahrt in 2010 - and they feel as though this is the year that a primary challenge to Moran could be successful.
Can Milton Wolf match the fundraising that would make him a primary fight for Moran? No one is sure, but Dr. Wolf is certainly convinced he is going to try.
While the Republican field is apparently shaping up into a battle against an incumbent, no Democrat - or independent - has declared for that seat as of yet.
