In honor of the
St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Asheville, and all they do for the local and larger community, we are dedicating the proceeds of this auction to this important church in the heart of Asheville. The great work
NC NAACP is doing to move North Carolina
"Forward Together, Not One Step Back", is reflected by the church's action and involvement. This auction was an opportunity for the Daily Kos community to support the church's efforts and to thank them for hosting
Reverend William Barber II when he came to Asheville on Friday, September 25th. There he welcomed Daily Kos to North Carolina for their Asheville Connects conference the following day and lit up the crowd with a challenge and a promise of unity and hope.
To learn more about the history of St. James and the greater AME Church, please read this diary where you can also see photos of this beautiful church, both inside and out.

All donors have been given the winning bidders' contact information and will be contacting their prospective auction winners. I will be in touch with everyone until all transactions are complete and items are delivered. After that, please look for a second edition of this post once everything is wrapped up and finalized.
If you were a donor or a bidder and are having any problems, please don't hesitate to e-mail me any time at randalltdkos over at the gee mail.
I've learned that this can be pretty easy for the admin and I think I could have made it even easier. I was really impressed with how closely the auction site administrator worked with me to make the site look and read right through different changes from DK HQ. The site will remain open until we wrap up all transactions. I highly recommend this service for anyone running an auction, large or small. The downside is that it has commercials, the upside is that it is free for all involved, sellers, bidders and administration. This was my first experience with an on-line auction. I found it fun and easy.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this great cause!
