Several of you send me ACA-related stories from time to time. Sometimes I post about them; sometimes I already have the same info/source from elsewhere; and sometimes I just get too backed up to do so. For example, here's...
--Short Cuts Orgy!! 50 ACA-related stories I just didn't have time to write about...
I also went slightly off-topic last night; I had no choice, it was too idiotic a development not to:
--Off-Topic: Jon Stewart reminds us who was just like Hitler: HITLER.
OK, back on topic:
--Maryland breaks HHS's 2015 QHP Goal with 35 days to go!
--Massachusetts: Chalk up another 1,200 QHPs & 3,700 Medicaid
--Idaho: 83.4K QHPs thru 12/31
--Vermont: 25K QHPs (corrected), 8,200 Medicaid thru 01/12
And finally, there was what should have been today's Big Enrollment Story...Covered California was finally going to come out with their full enrollment data, including the legendary "Renewed Enrollment Number" which has eluded Obamacare followers for months now. Anticipation was high at around 12:30pm Eastern.
And then...
--California: Enrollment Update Live Blog (UPDATE: 217K new, STILL no renewal data???)
--California: I was way off re. new enrollees...but not releasing renewal data at this point is absurd
Ugh. Very, very disappointing. They did mention a few other points regarding how they're handling citizenship/immigration issues, talked a lot about the upcoming tax penalties for people who don't get coverage and so on...but leaving out the most significant data point of any single state in the country was a crushing blow, given the main focus of this particular website.
That's right: Healthcare.Gov is now being more forthcoming & transparent with their ACA enrollment data than CoveredCA. Sign of the times...
