For today’s ‘too cute for words’ moment, I’d like to introduce you to four year old Calise Manning, of Kalamazoo Michigan. She might be young, but she’s already a little hero, at least to her mother, Centerria, who is 9 months pregnant. When Centerria began to have a seizure, Calise did what she was taught to do; She called 911.
“She’s shaking and she’s having a baby,” Calise tells a dispatcher in 911 audio obtained by CNN affiliate WWMT. “My mom is really pregnant and she’s having a boy and she really needs help.”
Luckily, Centerria
prepared Calise carefully:
“I was so proud of her, because we practice and I teach her because I am epileptic…I teach her the address and my full name and things like that, and how to dial 9-1-1,” Centerria said. Centerria Manning says they started practicing the whole situation when Calise was just two years old, and on Wednesday, she was put to the test.
On Wednesday, when her mother fell to the floor, Calise proved she’d been paying attention during all the training, spending almost seven and a half minutes on the phone with the 911 dispatcher. She enjoyed the ride in the ambulance with her mother, who is doing just fine.
“It was really good to ride in the ambulance with mom, and she was really proud of me,” Calise said
This little girl should be very proud of herself. She helped save her mother, and kept her cool. That’s no small feat for some adults I know. The best part for Calise? Well, that was welcoming her new baby brother, T.J. to the world on Friday morning. Both mother and baby are doing well.

The dispatcher who spoke with Calise has recommended the little girl get an award for her actions. I second that.
