Oh the vanity of New Year's Resolutions, at least for me- the notion that you'll change everything for the better with a simple statement and fortitude. I've done it, and it's a pretty sure bet that almost all of us have at one time or another. I just don't do them anymore, but if you do and you feel like sharing, this is an open space to do so.
KosAbility is a Sunday 7 pm eastkost/4 pm leftkost volunteer diarist community of, by & for people living with disabilities, who love someone with a disability, or who want to know more about the issues. Our use of "disability" includes temporary as well as permanent health/medical conditions, and small, gnawing problems as well as major, life-threatening ones. Our use of "love someone" extends to cherished members of other species.
Our discussions are open threads in the context of this community. Feel free to comment on the diary topic, ask questions of the diarist or generally to everyone, share something you've learned, tell bad jokes, post photos, or rage about your situation. Our only rule is to be kind; trolls will be spayed or neutered. If you are interested in contributing a diary, contact series coordinator postmodernista.

As is customary, this and other first Sundays of each month are open threads with a nominal topic not to be taken too seriously, a space in which to welcome our new members, attempt to behave well enough that our lurkers feel safe if they'd like to de-lurk and say hello, and just generally have enough unserious thoughts to balance the serious of the ability issues that we all have and write about for the rest of the month.
In that vein, I'd like to wish you all a most happy new year, and send to you my best wishes for your health and happiness. As kitkat might say (and actually just did), fair winds and following seas to all of you and those you love.
