The Rand Paul
passive-aggressive trolling campaign took a new turn on the floor of the US House of Representatives today with Rep. Curt Clawson's (R-FL) vote for Sen. Rand Paul as Speaker of the House.
The mantle of Ron Paul flops not far from a thirsty tree of liberty or is this latest bit of craziness not simply representative of Naples Florida's 19th District and the growing Paulista cult of personality.
A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods, to create an idealized, heroic, and at times, worshipful image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Sociologist Max Weber developed a tripartite classification of authority; the cult of personality holds parallels with what Weber defined as "charismatic authority". A cult of personality is similar to hero worship, except that it is established by mass media and propaganda usually by the state, especially in totalitarian states.
In addition to Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, Boehner had competition (or "competition") from three other Republicans: Florida's Ted Yoho and Daniel Webster and Texas' Louie Gohmert. Republican Boehner opponents also voted for a scattering of other names, including Rep. Curt Clawson's vote for Sen. Rand Paul.
(CNN) -- A couple new names entered the race for House Speaker as members voted for a new leader Tuesday afternoon -- and they're not even members of the House of Representatives.
Sen. Rand Paul got a vote for speaker from Republican Rep. Curt Clawson of Florida, and Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper of Tennessee gave his vote to former Secretary of State Colin Powell.
and then there's zombie Daniel Webster
