It's all in here, guys.
The real Ben Carson is coming to the fore, and he wants America to stop "pretending" that all "lifestyles" and "families" have the same value—because, let's face it, some just aren't worthy of equal compassion and respect. Marina Fang has
the details:
"We have got to stop paying attention to the 'p.c. police,' who say every lifestyle is exactly of the same value,” Carson said in an radio interview with Sirius XM. “No, it’s not of the same value. It is very clear that intact, traditional families with traditional, intact values do much better in terms of raising children. So let’s stop pretending that everything is of equal value."
Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, argued that children born out of wedlock or raised by single parents are tied to higher rates of poverty and crime.
This is the Ben Carson we will be seeing more and more of—a guy who is just as maniacally sure of himself as Donald Trump. But the difference between Trump and Carson is that Trump actually seems aware that he's doing things to manipulate the media and get coverage. Trump, who's clearly not altogether sane either, is putting on a show.
But Carson is just Carson. He actually believes that he could have handled the Oregon shooting incident better because he knows what to do even if he has no idea what actually happened. He also knows which families are valuable and which ones aren't worth the time of day.
But for our purposes, it's actually quite difficult to discern who's worse: the guy who has some idea of what he's doing and clearly chooses to target vulnerable minorities like immigrants and refugees for his own benefit or the guy who has absolutely no self-awareness and is instead just basking in the glow of his own personal ignorance and how well it resonates with the GOP base.
