So, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was all, "Hey, CNBC! I'm not gonna debate at the kids' table anymore! If you don't let me on the main stage, I'm not gonna show up at all!"
And CNBC was all, "Whatevs."
And now, Jindal is all, "Hey, no, I'm gonna show up for the kids' table debate! What, you thought I was serious? No, dude, I'm totally down for the kids' table. Totally!"
Having seen Trump successfully pressure CNBC to add opening statements to tonight's debate by threatening to stay home, Jindal thought he could play the same card, apparently.
But he forgot there is a significant difference between Trump and himself. A lot of people will watch the CNBC debate because, and only because, Trump will be there. If Trump stays home, CNBC's ratings take a hit. So, CNBC pretty much has to do what Trump says.
By contrast, most viewers don't even know who Jindal is, which kind of reduces the potential downside for CNBC.
So, have fun at the kiddies' table, Bobby!
