Paris was rocked by attacks Friday night. Multiple outlets are reporting as many as 35 dead, though this is a rapidly developing story. What is known now:
Police officials in France say there has been an explosion in a bar near a Paris stadium and a shootout in a Paris restaurant.
French media are reporting at least 30 people died in the violence around Paris. An Associated Press report said French police claim Friday's shootings and explosions to be the deadliest violence France has seen in decades. [...]
According to the Associated Press, one of the police officials said 11 people were killed in a Paris restaurant in the 10th arrondissement and about 15 killed in the Bataclan theater, where a hostage-taking is under way.
Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be publicly named according to police policy.
That’s as much as is known at this time. There are many conflicting reports, and as these situations always prove, caution is the watchword.
Update: There is some video of the scene outside of a restaurant where one explosion occurred.

CNN is reporting that people in the theater are texting that they’re currently safe but are hearing gunfire and small explosions. And according to CNN, police are massing outside the theater, with speculation that they’re preparing to storm the place.
