The Daily Kos is a group that wants to do many cool things, and boy do they accomplish a lot. Often large organizations are much like my little aspie self - all over the place.
Now is the time to focus though. We are in the middle of the forest standing right in front of a huge tree. That tree is the Virginia election tomorrow and we can affect the outcome of that election.
Even at this late date, there is still stuff we can do. Could we have done more earlier? Hell yes! But it’s not earlier. It’s now. It’s the day before Election Day.
I’m hoping a lot of people with more election knowledge that I do will jump in here with suggestions. I know Chris Reeves has some good ones.
Here are my two ideas for getting out the vote in VA. The Daily Kos Group Virginia Kos has about 200 members in it. So I’m asking for a bunch of folks to sign up to take a few of the names of the members of the Virginia Kos groups and remind them to vote tomorrow and to get them to remind all of their friends.
Here is the page for Virginia Kos members.
I’m going to Kosmail the first 10 on the list quick before I go to work. To do this you simply:
>click on the members name
>click on the send a message button and send a message
> Hit that arrow pointing backwards 3 times to get back at the member’s page and repeat this simple process over again. It takes me 2 minutes to invite one person so I am asking for 18 minutes of your time.

I just did the first 10. Here are some tips for how I did it. Others may know a faster way.
For the first message I typed the whole thing out:
Subject line – VA elections tomorrow
In the body I wrote:
I am hoping, really hoping that you're going to vote tomorrow and taking as many friends, enemies, family and strangers with you to the polls!
Thanks for participating in this very important process!

Before I hit send on the first one I copied it. (hit ctrl and C) then I sent it.
For the next one on the subject line I only put in a capital V, which brought up a few choices for me. One was “VA elections tomorrow”. I clicked on that and didn’t have to type it all over again.
In the body of the message all I did was paste the message I had cut the first time. (I hit ctrl and V and wham my message was there with having to re type it)
I did hit glitches 2 out of the 10 times. I got an error message. I ignored it, backed up a page, put the message in again and sent it. Once I had to do this twice but it sent.
Feel free to use whatever language you like to inspire folks to vote. And let me know if you want to pick a section of the VA Kos group list.

And yea, they’re not numbered; you’re on your own there. Duplication's are fine.
The other thing you can do as someone not in VA trying to affect the vote is to email everyone you know to see if they know anyone in VA and encourage them to ask the people they know to show up at the polls tomorrow.
You can use an old fashioned phone and address book also. Carrier pigeons are fine, if you have them. Do whatever you can that Luddites like myself can’t. Tweet it, put it on your Face Book page. Whatever you can think of.
Please share any ideas or actions you’ve taken in the comments section. THANKS!!!!
