When terrorists killed 130 people in Paris in mid November, they did far more than commit mass murder.
ISIS terrorists spurred counter attacks from American terrorists against innocent Americans who happen to follow Islam.
Terrorists spurred Donald Trump to say it would be a great idea to force all Islamic residents of America to register and submit to scrutiny, just as the Nazis forced the Jews to do.
And terrorists spurred the French government to outlaw large public gatherings for the time being.
People planned to march in Paris on Nov 29th ahead of COP21, our last, best chance to convince world leaders to stop the train rushing us towards climate disaster. That march, which was shaping up to be larger than the New York march of 400,000 people last year, has been canceled. Instead, people will donate their shoes to line the march route as a sign of how many were supposed to be there.
The hatred spewed by terrorists has spurred more hatred, more attacks, and has also murdered a gigantic event that would have helped convince our leaders to literally save the world.
We can't go down that path. It's up to all of us to march in place of those shoes lining the streets of Paris. It's up to us to spread love and hope for a livable world instead of hatred.
Join the Global Climate March this Saturday and/or Sunday in solidarity with the people of Paris and all the creatures of this Earth.
P.S. Know where ISIS gets most of its money? Oil.
If you still feel the need to hate something, let's hate on big oil that has been lying to us about climate change for decades to keep their product flowing.
