A 27-year-old Idaho woman was working alone in the office of the Coeur d’Alene Press last Sunday morning when a subcontractor for the paper came into the building and told her a friend was waiting outside to talk to her. The woman followed the 44-year-old man outside, when he grabbed her, threatened her and held a knife to her stomach. The woman, however, broke free and took his knife. She ran back into the newspaper building, locked the door and called police. Police said the man chased her but he was not able to get back inside.
The Coeur DAlene police arrested the man at the scene and will be charging him with kidnapping, aggravated assault, attempted rape, burglary and DUI. First, the police took him to get treatment for his injuries. The man is a registered sex offender. Sad also that he was drunk on a Sunday morning.
Idaho women are tough.
