Statewide Results: KY | MS | NJ | OH | PA | VA
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 4:53 PM PT (David Jarman): KY-Gov: To recap, Democrat Jack Conway is currently down 51-46 with more than half of the votes counted, a surprising result considering that no polls gave GOP opponent Matt Bevin a lead. Democratic Attorney General and SoS candidates have narrow leads, though.
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 4:55 PM PT (David Jarman): VA-SD-07, VA-SD-10: In Virginia, things are much closer in SD-10 as more of Richmond reports; Dem Dan Gecker trails only 49-48 with 39 percent reporting. On the other hand, the GOP candidate in SD-07, Frank Wagner, has pulled into a 54-46 lead with 53 percent reporting.
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:00 PM PT (David Jarman): VA-SD-29: The other biggest concern in the Virginia State Senate was the Dem-held 29th, an open seat vacated by a retiring moderate Dem. So far, Dem Jeremy McPike is leading GOPer Harry Parrish 52-48, though that's only with 4 percent reporting. (The other races that we mentioned, SD-07 and SD-10, are R-held seats that are the Dems' best pickup chances.)
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:03 PM PT (David Jarman): VA-SD-10 If you want numbers for the Virginia races that are ahead of the AP, try the VPAP site. They're, in fact, showing a lead for the Dem in SD-10 (Dan Gecker), 50-47, with half of precincts reporting.
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:05 PM PT (David Jarman): KY-Gov: Downballot, the AP has called the Treasurer and Ag Commissioner races for the Republicans, who were expected to win those ones. The Gov race still looks bad for Dem Jack Conway: he trails Matt Bevin 52-44 with 70 percent reporting.
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:10 PM PT (David Jarman): KY-Gov: Ugh, the AP has called the gubernatorial race for Republican Matt Bevin, who looked like he'd been written off last month. He currently leads 52-44.
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:12 PM PT (David Jarman): Manchester, NH mayor: Here's a nailbiter out of Manchester, New Hampshire. Republican incumbent Ted Gatsas appears to have defeated his Dem challenger, Joyce Craig, by a margin of under 100 votes (10,022 to 9,947).
Tue Nov 03, 2015 at 5:16 PM PT (David Jarman): VA-SD-10: Well, here's the good news for the night: Dem Dan Gecker is leading his GOP opponent by a 52-45 and widening margin, with 67 percent reporting. If the Dems pick this seat up (it's an open, GOP-held seat in the Richmond area), that moves the Virginia Senate to 20-20, which means Dem control thanks to the Lt. Governor's tie-breaking vote.
