While we are begining to see the first foundations for Universal Health Care being laid in Colorado, I am surprised to find an unexpected source of support from a someone that I thought would never understand the value of health care for all.
While in Santiago, Chile, Richard Masters CEO of MCS Industries Inc, went to a Pharmacy and purchased an inhaler for $15.00. Back home that same inhaler costs $120.00. Blood pressure medicine cost $4.00 but back home $40.00. The experience, coupled with rising health care costs for his employees motivated Mr. Masters to take action.
Ralph Nader, in an article on the Huffington Post, reports on the efforts of Richard Masters to investigate health care in other countries and to become a Champion for Medicare for all within the business community.
Below are links to the article and the movie Mr. Masters produced.
