As has been pointed out repeatedly, there has been a common charge against DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz: she’s in the bag for Hillary. So wouldn’t the last thing she would want to do is fuel that narrative?
Seems to me Debbie is doing exactly what the Bernie campaign would expect if the shoe was on the other foot.
Shockingly, though, Bernie Sanders is currently exploiting his campaigns theft of Clintons data for political donations. The fact Bernie is currently fundraising off stealing Hillary’s data is proof that if this wasn’t a crime, Debbie wouldn’t be foolish enough to feed the charge she’s in the bag for Hillary because it has only fueled Bernie’s most loyal supporters.
Unfortunately, the false narrative Bernie is a victim of this situation is being spun by Bernie’s camp to manipulate his supporters against the “evil” DNC (even though the Bernie camp is the one that committed the crime in the first place and are now portraying themselves as the victim — very clever!). Point is — Debbie wouldn’t foolishly fuel this narrative if it wasn’t for a legitimate reason.
There is simply no other remedy at this point because the Sanders campaign has accessed information they can manipulate with the DNC database. Until an independent investigation can be conducted, all the information is returned, and all 4 users associated with the incident are fired, the punishment should stand.
Granted, the Sanders campaign has done a masterful job of shapeshifting into the victim. Though let’s not forget who the real victim is: Hillary Clinton’s campaign that had both their data and strategy stolen by the Bernie Sanders campaign.
Having accidental access to data doesn't mean you can exploit it and download it. That's like saying I can go into a house because the door is unlocked. And the notion that you would go in a house that isn’t yours to show that it’s unlocked is outrageous. Besides, the Sanders campaign didn’t just go into the house. They stole things. And until we know all of it is back, the punishment should stand.
The Sanders campaign seems to also be changing its story. First they said they didn’t download the data. But now we have proof that they did, in-fact, download it. They were like kids in a candy store and are now trying to play the victim.
The Bernie campaign should have just owned up to it, apologized, allowed for an independent investigation, and fired all 4 staffers associated with the incident (only one has been fired). The Bernie campaign is keeping itself from access to the data by instead throwing a temper-tantrum and playing the victim. Trying to come up with a conspiracy theory against Hillary and the DNC by using their own wrong-deed to promote said conspiracy theory. Disgusting. I guess it only took Bernie a few months to become a corrupt politician. Power corrupts. Bernie’s the proof.
At the end of the day, Hillary is up by 30 nationally, dominates in southern state’s, received 18 million votes in 2008, and will win the majority of superdelegates needed for the nomination. Given all that, and the fact that Debbie wouldn’t do something to unnecessarily fuel the narrative that she’s in the bag for Hillary, do you really believe this is a conspiracy theory against Bernie Sanders?
