Is Daily Kos now being used as a spam center?
Just received this email…and note that I have been very clear about who I’m supporting so this is not even a targeted use of spam. I don’t recall ever receiving something partisan like this via DK before. OTOH there are a lot of things I don’t remember these days. LOL

Subject: Middle class families in Oregon cannot afford to pay more taxes.
XXXXX, as Democrats we should stand united against any measures that would cut middle-class take-home pay by raising their taxes. Raising incomes for middle-class families has to be the first priority for our next president.
Sign the petition if you agree with Hillary Clinton that middle-class families deserve a raise, not a tax increase.
She has proposed a bold, aggressive economic agenda, but when it comes to paying for it, she will make sure the wealthiest Americans finally start contributing their fair share.
Join Hillary’s official campaign if you agree that we should not force hard-working Americans to pay even more than they already do. We will send you updates and information about how to get involved.

I responded:
Christina,
What taxes are you talking about? Devils lurk in details and specifics.
If you read Daily Kos you must have read the diary pointing out how misleading this argument is, replete with facts & figs if talking about single payer health care.
And in my opinion it is quite Republicanesque to use the old tired tax bogey man.
Models are very useful in science and economics: (in other words just saying something doesn't make it so even if it sound logical at a simplistic level) And we have some great real life models right here in the US...have you looked at the differences between Minnesota and Wisconsin? Wisconsin, like Kansas,...is floundering. Minnesota otoh raised taxes and is flourishing. Of course it is more complex than just that ...but revenues are vital for an economy to flourish...if used wisely. If injected back into the foundation.
