While Deflategate and Chaitgate Rage, America Quietly Robs Its Elderly http://readersupportednews.org/...
How are things financially in your house? Some of you have been working for years and
have a nice nest egg saved to let you live the last chapter of your life doing what you have always wanted to do.
I run with a friend who has worked in maintenance for a school district for over 35 years.
He has plans to move to Cambodia to be with a lady he loves. I have asked him frequently
if he has enough money to live on for 20 or 30 years. "I think so, I have money with a
broker and I see how much I have, I am always being asked to buy this fund or something that pays more interest." He always says he will take less interest for greater security for his savings.
He is smart, my friend works with his hands and would be the first to say financial products confuse him.His broker assures him he is fine.He has rolled over his 401-k
Many times but has seen no real growth. He has money because he hasn't touched it
for years.
He assumes brokers have to make sure his desire for security is honored The truth is
all your broker is required by law to do is have "a reasonable awareness" of your financial
needs. If your 30 years old, it might be okay to invest in riskier financial products; not
when you're over 50.
One of my friends once said he was in commodities when asked where he put his money.
Asked to explain, he said meat, fruit, milk, etc. He of course meant he used his money
to buy groceries.
Republican's want no restrictions on what a broker does with your money. In 2008,
Dood-Frank was passed to put regulations on Wall Street. Brokers
Work on commission. I've worked on commission for years on other products. That
method of getting paid makes a salesperson motivated to make a sale every day.
I will work till I die as will many of my friends. If you're responsible to care for mentally
ill people, you have little chance to do much else with your money.
Really pay attention to where your savings is being used for. Read books on financial
products. Be smart with your money! You can retire you should be proud of yourself.
